Cr. Luis San Martín de TIRAPU: “Every day I want to learn something new”

Tirapu is a reference in the sector; it has a fleet of 40 state-of-the-art Volvo trucks, maintaining a policy of average age and renewal no more than five years. With these guidelines, the company, with its units equipped with the latest Euro 5 environmentally friendly technologies, manages to reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

Tirapu's service is the national and international transportation of liquid bulk; it travels to Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay. It transports water and fills swimming pools. Tirapu's service is the national and international transportation of liquid bulk; it travels to Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay. It transports water and fills swimming pools. As happened in the first edition of EXPOCARGA, in 2023 it returned and we spoke with its Director, Cr.

What can you tell us about this 2023 edition of EXPOCARGA?

First of all, it is a pleasure to be in this pleasant place; the truth is that this exhibition is a complete success. The forums help us a lot to learn about other facets, to see the authorities in other types of meetings, talking, in practice. The truth is that we really support this type of meetings, which prioritize transport in general.

How do you see the sector?

When you come here, you see trucks and more trucks on the road, which means that the country is working; the dynamism that exists is represented by the trucks. To achieve this, we have to demand much more in terms of safety, care for the environment, to have the lowest possible risk, to deliver the cargo with the corresponding safety. These are factors that we, as businesspeople, have to work hard to achieve.

The importance of drivers is fundamental, today we are talking about fatigue; This type of thing keeps us improving continuously and invites us not to stay.

Is continuous improvement a challenge?

That's good, I have some anecdotes from my father on this subject. When 20 years ago people were talking about quality standards, my father asked me what it was and I said: “Dad, it's very simple, it's what you do, take care of the little things, that's the quality standard”.

My father, who is 87 years old, used to tell us: “I want to learn something new every day”, and this has become a motto for us that we are still very committed to today, improving every day.
